Messrs Lowes and Irons report on their - Masterton itock sale as follows: — We ■ held our usual fortnightly stock sale at > our yards on Wednesday. Notwithstand* iog the inclement state of the weather, stock was yarded in good numbers. Sheep sold oo an oquiyalent to re» cent quotations ; lambs were m request and consequently had spirited competition Dairy heifers, of which 30 were yarded, showed an improvement. A yery useful - .- lot of horses were sold on account of s Messem Hocken Bros., of Feildios, atid ... * elicited more competition, than has been manifest for some time past We quoted ; - •"* Ewes in lamb. 2 tooth, 7s 6d to 8s ; fulli * mouth, 5s to 6s ; forward ewes, turnip fed, 8s; forward wethers, turnip fed, 9*. 9d ; lambs, up to 6s 4! ; fat bullocks, £6 -. , I 17s 6d ; 3-year old steers, £4 15s ; cowr m milk and *prin?ing, £2 5s to £6 5s j heifers coming to calf. £3 5s to £3 17 6d. Draught horses sold at an average of about £19, lighter horses £14 tp £17. 6n« n ice pair ligh t mares bringing £33.
