Apiti Notes.
[from our own cobrksfondent.l A meeting was held in the schoolhouse on Tuesday last to receive the report of the public hall canvassing committee. Mr W. Watson presided. After some discussion it was resolved to allow the matter to stand over until December, as owing to tho present disgraceful condition of our roads it would be impossible to get in the sawn timber. Owing to the heavy rains we have had recently several slips have como down and completely blocked the road for wheeled traffic. Your readers may remember that a meeting was called for the 30th June for the purpose — but owing to the heavy rain no one attended — but after the meoting referred to above in connection with the public hall it was resolved, by those present, to start an Oddfellows' Lodge at once. Messrs Carter Bros., of Montoa, have sold their section in the Coal Creek Block at a very satisfactory figure. The tea and sacred concert to be held here on the 18th instant promises to be a great success.
