Stock Markets.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — We have only the Palmerston stock sale to report upon this week. Sheep mustered freely. A firm tone existed throughout, everything being sold under the hammer with the exception of one line of wethers which were turned out unsold. Quotations : Sheep — Small 2-tooth ewes made 8s to 9s 3d ; 2to 6-tooth breeding ewes, 9s 2d ito lis 9d ; small store wethers, 9s 2d ; others, 10s Id ; shorn lambs, medium quality, 7s to 7s 2d; small lambs, 5s 7d. Cattle — An increased number of cattle came forward. Young stock improved in value, other sorbs changed hands much on a par with late sales. Grown steers in fresh condition made £4 lis 6d ; fat bullocks, light weights, £d 15s ; yearling steers, £2 1 7s ; well bred weaners, £2 6s; others, £1 10s to £1 16s ; springing heifers, £i 12s to £5 10s 6d ; milch cows, springing, £6 2s 6d to £6 15s.
