A Conviction Quashed.
(PEB SBESS ASSOCIATION.) Chbistchtjkch, June 4. At the Supreme Court to-day Arthur Simpson, who has been convicted at the Magistrate's Court on the charge under the Police Offences Act with selling obsceue pictures and sentenced to fourteen days' hard labour, appealed against his conviction. The appeal was upheld and the conviction quashed. Mr Denniston pointed out that his decision did not affect the right to proceed against tbe appeallant under the '. Offensive Publications Act.
