The Foresters' Hall was crtwuW last evening for the social in connection with tbe local 1.0. G.T. Lodge. Bro. Stanton occupied the chair and * in his opening address., referred to tb*) advancemont of .the temperance cause in Feilding and to the gi«_t success of the Good Templars Lodge here within " the, last five' weeks, no les. tlflttf iSfrjf''* members being initated within that time. The* programme consisted of songs and recitations, and judging^ T from the enthusiasm, shown by theaudience these gatherings will in the future be a* decided success. Miss Valentine contributed the overtures and songs wfere given as follows:— Bro. Anderson was encored for *»Tbat ,' :■■*. Will be a Novelty " and sang " Two; Lovely Blaok Eyes," also " The Irish Jubilee " and the « Lad of the Scotch - Brigade " both of which were encored • Mrs Weavers, " The Old Scoteli_ J W& * and "You had better bide Awee M " tbe latter being encored ; Mrs Nasty " Ittolly Mavourneen " ; Mr Attwood ~ M .Tby Voice is Near " and " Mona." " giving in reply to vociferous encores " Netty Moore" and "Calvary ": Mr Blackmore "The White _faualf*Miss Galloway "No Sir, 0 repeating , the last verse in response to __r~e& '—■ core ; Mr Frank Bray " The Cows are. in the Corn," giving " Daisy Belle as an encore ; Mr H. Wooding sang " That's whore jou feel it the Moat.?' 3 -">' The Mis.es Smith sang a duet, and " Mr Sherlock recited " Dr. Chalmers on the insignificance of Matt'^and "Daniel O'Connor on the Irish * Disturbance Bili " ; Mr Wooding j recited "The controlling influence of L:quor " and gave as an encore " Not " "" So Bad."
