The\ bricks are being carted from Curl's clearing, and very soon the whole work Will be completed, A petition is nowi)eiug taken round this district for signatures of settlers praying that the Government will keep open the /road for wheel traffic between here B>nd Birmingham, and at once remove the many dangerous ■lip* which almost block the road. If the latter is not soon done serious accidents must surely happen. A meeting of settlers was held in the Pemberton school room a short time ago to consider what steps could betaken with regaid to erecting a butter factory. Probably you will hear more of this later on. The road into the State farm is almost impftssable, and such accidents aa horses being bogged, riders thrown off, and goods destroyed are of daily occurrence.
