Owing to an . injured shoulder, J. Robinson will be unable to take part in the match with the Pirates on Saturday. The Ashurst and Pohangina Clubs play a. match at Ashurst on Saturday. The Oroua Association Football Club will play their first match at Woodville on Wednesday next, 4th July, and the following players will represent the Club:— Goal-keeper, A. S. Inaes Jones ; backs, A. Gray, G. C. Hare ; half-backs, A. Gibson, B. Beattie, J. C. Hare ; forwards, F. Myers, C. Myers, C. L. Daniel, F. Nossiter, J. C. Halcombe. The team will leave Feilding at 9 a.m. A suggestion has been made that a team picked from the Pirates and Kea Kahau play matches with a team chosen from the Feilding and Marton Clubs, the proceeds to be devoted to the Manawatu Union. The first match could be played at Palmerston, and the second at Feilding. The idea is a very good one, and the Union should at once try to . arrange matches. Mr A. J. Weeks will referee in the Pirate-Feilding match on Saturday. It in probable that the Taranaki reps, will play the Manawatu reps, during the third week in July. The date has not yet been fixed. Towards the end of the season a West Coast Maori team will be picked to go for a tour. Several largo- donations have been promised to defray the expenses of the trip. Thu following team will represent the Pirates in the match against Feilding on Saturday :— Luckford, Rickards, Robin' son, Rockley, J. Manning, McKenna, Western, W. Evans, Rakena, Perrin, Smith, McMillan, Rush, Aldiidge, Nash.
