Campbelltown Notes.
«. [tfBOM OV& OWK OOBBBSFONDENT.I I am sorry to record a case of severe affliction of the \rife of Mr J. Cockburn, of Waitobi, -who has been for the past ten weeks confined to bed, owing to one side of her body being paralysed. Drs Bockstow, Bennett, and Wilson have been attending her, but their skill has proved unavailing. Fortunately, Mrs Cockburn is not deprived of her sense of hearing, and is able to express her wishes in writing. Much sympathy is being expressed for her by a large circle of friends, who have, by their constant care, endeavoured to solace her in her affliction. Mr Corpe's butter factory is doing very little business now in comparison to what it was doing a few months ago, as it is only separating about one-third the quantity of milk it was in December. A large addition is being made to tke factory to meet the wants of the. coming spring. A sacred concert was given in the Wesleyan Church last evening by, the Campbelltown and Sandon Wesleyan choirs, under the supervision of, the talented choirmaster, Mr J, Sanson. The church was packed to the doors, the seating accommodation proving insufficient. About 40 singers took part, and Miss A. Anderson, of Sandon, officiated at the organ, with Master Keall on the violin. At 8 o'clock the programme was commenced by the choir singing an anthem, "The Lord in Zion"; then followed a solo by Miss Begg, " Consider the Lilies," anthem, " Bow down thine Ear," by the choir, solo by Mr McGregor, '.' Beyond the Gates " (which was well rendered)/ anthem by the choir, "Hear me, Jehovah," solo by Miss Berg, " The Holy City," anthem, "God Reignetb." After an interval the choir sang the anthems " Let us Worship " and " I will both lay me down in Peace," and a solo was given by Mr McGregor, "Eternal Rest," following which the choir sang the anthems "My Soul Waiteth for the Lord " and "He that Dwelleth" ; Miss Begg sang " Ruth," the choir "Be Near Us," and the whole was brought to a close by the singing gi the Doxology. The singing tlffcougii : out was good. * ?. J
