June G At the meeting of the Kxecutive Com- i mittee of the Northern Kail way League, it was decided to forward the following: telegram to the Minister f«r Public Works : — " At a meeting of the Northern Railway League, held to day, it was resolved respectfully to ask you the follow ins? questions : — How much vote of the £65.000 has been expended m extension of railway between Mokau station and tunnel, also nature and extent of work ? What progress has been made in road construction on tbe East road, between Stratford and Ongaruhe; also nature and cost of work ? If Department have received reports of surveyors on exploration suivey recommended to be sect out f<>r this purpose by Parliamentary committee of 1892 ; also nature of such report (if any) ? Has tbe Department received report of surveyors sent out on New Plymouth* Palmeraton line re grades and curves, notably those on the Brunswick and Wangaehu sections ; also nature of their report (if any) ?"
