.» The members of the Feilding Porough Council and of the Manchester Road ' Board are to be congratulated on the business like manner in which they have undertaken to meet the difficulties of either replacing, or putting in order, tbc bridges iv their respective bound,-
aries destroyed or damaged by the recent floods. Although the direct money expenditure will be considerable, yet not one word of complaint was uttered at either meeting, but the trouble was faced boldly and the best and most practicable means discussed and adopted. That some months must elapse before all the new works are completed goes without saying, but in the mean time all the necessary steps have been taken for the erection of temporary structures where they are absolutely needed, nnd to make passable the highways which have been in any way injured. By these moans the inconvenience to the residents and the travelling public will be reduced to a minimum. I
