CARELESS HORSEMEN.
TO THE EDITOII OF THE STAR. Sir, — As I was walking along the Kiinbolton road last evening at about six o'clock, I was attracted by a man's voice raised in anger. I listened, and heard him growl " You should keep on tho proper side of the road." Upon looking closely, I found that he was addressing a woman who was on, foot. She protested that she was on the correct side, whereupon he exclaimed fiercely " Yon were not ; it would have served you right had you been run over." Now I think the least a man could do after so nearly running over a person in the dark, more especially as it was a woman, would be to apologise, instead of veutiug his temper on a member of the weaker sex. I think it is about time some of those people who call themselves men were shown up. Such cowardly conduct is a disgrace to the name of man. I am, etc., A Woman. Feildiiig, May 30th, 1894.
