Sydney. May 24 Delaware won the Royal Stakes, Buccleugh and M.L.A. running a dead heat for second place. Twenty-one started. There was an exciting finish, and the race was only won by half a head. Melbourne, May 24. The Royal Handicap resulted in a win for Bristol, Bungabong, second, and Lord Hastings third. Fourteen started. Won by two lengths. This Day. The Birthday Handicap yesterday was won by Cressy, Warpaint 2, John 3. Ten started. Won by three quarters of a length.
