Queen's Birthday.
There will be many attractions for holidtiy-niakers tomorrow, and given 6ne weather no doubt an enjoyable day will be spent by all The local attractions will bo the Cheltenham Sports, which will doubtless draw a large crowd, and which will be followed in the ovening bjr a concert and dance ; the parade of the Man shester Rifles at 8.30 a.m., when a feu de joie will be fired, followed by the firing at the butts durin« the day for prizes given by the residents of the town ; and a football match on the Oval between a Palmerston and local team. For those in clined to travel further there will be the sensational balloon ascent by M iss Adair, and the Manawatu Mounted Rifles' tournament, both of which events take place on the Palmerßton North racecourse ; while lovers of horse-racing will find amusement both at Wangunut and Otaki. Evening amusement in Feilding will be provided by the Manchester Rifles, who give a grand social and dance, and doubtless this, as on former occasions, will prove most enjoyable.
