Messrs Gorton and Sons stock report — During the last fortnight we have held sales at Bulls, Awahuri and Hunterville. Full entries came forward at all the sales, especially at Bulls and Awahuri, where the bidding was dull when compared with the number or stock yarded. In the business done at Hunterville the sale was more brisk and we sold most of the stock at, as regards wethers, decidedly mi proved prices. Our quotations are : — CATTLE. Awahuri — Fat cows, £4 14s ; cows, £2 10s Gd ; 2-year steers, £2 10s ; yearlings, 30s; weaners and calves, 13s to 20s. Hunterville— Fat bullocks, £5 3s6d. SHEEP. Bulls — 2-tooth wethers, 8s Id to 8s 3d ; lambs, 3s 6d to 4s 9d ; fat ewes, 7s 9d ; breeding ewes, ss. Awahuri — Wethers, 7s to 8s ; fat ewes, (5s 9d. Mr Matthew's Romney 2-tooth ewes, 9s ; f.m. ewes, 7s ; lambs, 3s to 4s. Hunterville — 2-tooth wethers, 7s 5d to 7s lOd ; 4 and 6-tooth wethers, 9s 2d ; ewes, 3s to 5s 9d. Mr R. E. Beckett reports :— There was a good attendance at my sale last Friday at Martou, and tlio yards wore well filled with a good class of sheep, but few cattle were yarded. A decided improvement on the tone of the market was noted, although prices are still low. Lambs were keenly competed for. A line of 500 shorn lambs made 4/6, and a pen of fat wothers 11/6. I quote: — Cattle. — Dairy cows, £5 5s to X' 6 ; 12 to 18-jnonth steers, .£2 10s. Sheep. — Shorn lambs (good) 4s to 4s 6d ; 2-tooth wethers, 7s to 8s 6d ; 4-tooth wethers, Us 3d ; prime fat wethers, 11s 6d. Pigs.— Weaners, 8s to 10s.

— John Cohijk has, during the present week, opened up his second delivery of White English Blankets, consisting of over 100 pairs. This brings his purchases of white blankets for the present winter up to 250 pairs. Every pair of this season's English blankets have been imported into New Zealand by himself.
