Educational Affairs in Otago.

(Per Press Association). Dunedin, May 17. The Education Board were asked to-day by the head inspector to appoint a fourth inspector. It was resolved not to appoint an additional inspector, and, further, the Board gave directions that examinations in the first, second and third standards should be by classes. In the event of the present staff being unable to overtake the work of examining all schools, the inspectors are directed to report the fact to the Board, leaving the Board to face any difficulty. It was pointed out that the Board received only £500 for inspection, which at present costs over .£2OOO.
