The Hon. Mr Reeves and the Auckland Schools.
[Per Press Association.] Auckland. May 17. With regard to the misunderstanding with the City Schools' Committee, the Hon Mr Reeves has sent to the chairman of the Committee the following telegram : — " lam very sorry that no answer appears to have been sent to your letter whilst I was in Auckland, Unforfortunately my hands were more than full during my short stay there with arrears of correspondence, my efforts to cope with which were broken by the calls of numerous visitors. Hence the oversight. I must ask you to convey to the Committee my regret that their resolution and yonr letter were not immediately replied to. As regards the question of school attendance, the Bill of last year with one or two amendments will be again introduced. I shall be happy to forward you any explanation your Committee may desire to have regarding this Bill, and also to answer any other questions they may desire to put to me by letter."
