Modern painters have never been able to discover the secret of thus>e wonderful colours of the old masters which have returned through centuries all their beau* tiful tones and shades just as if the paints had been mixed and the pictures pa n ted yesterday. Modern science, try as it will, canntit uurayel the mystery acd reveal to the world of art in the present day the secret of those rare colourH The secret has died with the old masters and possibly it will never be re- discovered. It ih for their exquisite c louring that the pictures of the great musters are chiefly celebrated, but as the secret was known to but a few it has never been handed dowu to posterity. So it is with tea blending. Tbe mixing of teas ia order that they may retain a permanent and uniform flavour is a secret known to but a com« parative few. These few are very conteryative, but they do not readily make known their invaluable secrets. Thus it is we have many tea blender?, but com para tivelv few who possess the real secrets of the "craft. Experimenting, mostly done at the expense of the consumers, will not divulge the process, and so it follows that the aenume tea blenders are few and far between. They are a close corporation Now the Empire Tea Co dees possess the secret, and therefore their teas, like the pictures of the old masters, will live for all time as examples of what can D 6 accomplished by skill and knowledge of tbe secrets of tea mixing.
