Gisbobnk, ' ny 15 Tho Native Land Validation Court opened to-day , when Mr Rees, on behalf of the members of the legal profession, gave Judge Barton the assurance of their support and confidence. He said that there was no Court in the British dominions in which the Judge had such unlimited power, with no appeal from his decisions except to Parliament. Judge Barton, replying, expressed the hope that at the end of the three years fer' which term the Court had been appointed, and iv which he hoped to settle all classes for validation in this district, this community would not regret that the Act had been passed. He could see no rock ahead except one, and tho responsibility of that belonged to others. The Pfirematacase, tho first called, affects the title of 8745 acres, yo miles north of Gisborue.
