Feilding State School Committee.
A special meeting of the above Committee whs held in the schoolhouse lastJßyenjng to consider a complaint ;vg*inßt Miss Huynes, one of the teachers, ■ and a letter from ffie Education Board re the teaching staff. Present — Messrs Carthew (chairman), Worsfold, Gould, R. J. Thompson, Taylor, Shearer, Sorley, > Eade, and W. G. Haybittle (secretary). Mrs Rapley, who laid the complaint, waited on tbe Committee by request, and, after hearing her and Miss Haynes' explanation, which was corroborated by Miss A. Watts and Mr Hill, the following resolution was carried : — . — .«, . M . , P , , , Proposed by Mr Haybittle, seconded by Dr Sorley, That there is not suffi. cientevidence before the committee to support the charge made by Mrs Bap. ley against Miss Haynes. With reference to the letter from the Education Board re the teaching staff, Mr Galland waited on the committee by request and having answered questions re the discipline in the fourth standard it was - Proposed by Mr Shearer, seconded by Dr Sorley, That the matter refer. red to by the Education Board be held over till next meeting.— Carried. ',
