HE RESIGNS HIS POSITION IN THE MINISTRY. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION). London, May 14. The Right Hon. A. J. Mundella has resigned the Presidency of the Board of Trade. He points out that this actiou is taken to prevent the appearance of complicating public and private interests. AH sections of the press approve of the step Mr Mundella has taken. Later. Mr Mundella explains that he is conscious of his innocence, but resigns to avoid crippling the administrative freedom of the Board of Trade, with which further proceedings in regard to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company rests.
