Wellington-Manawatu Railway Line.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington. May 13 Ministers are being urged by the Chamber of Coruuierce to take into consideration the advisableness of acquiring the line of the Wellington-Manawatu Railway Company. In a letter addressed to the Minister for Public Works the chamber remarks " present arrangements cause, as is well known, great hindrances in the way of trade and interchange and of the settlement and prosperity of the district, and seeing that several of tbe Government lines act as freeders to the Manawatu Company's line, it appears evident that great advantage to the district nnd entire colony would result from the amalgamation of the Manawatu Company's line with the general management of the several lines of the North Island."
