In the House of Commons the second rending of the Budget Bill was earned after a close division, the voting being— Ayes, 308 ; Noes, 204. The Bouse then adjourned till 'he 21st iost. In division on the Budget Bill the Parnellites voted against the Government, while the anti-Parnellites supported the measure. Three Gladstonians and one Unionist abstained from voting. The Daily News, referring to the report that the Parnellites would oppose the new duties, taunted them with preferring to see autonomy perish rather than let the price of whiskey bo increased three farthings a bottle for twelve months. The journal advised the Premier to persevere while he has the confidence of the country, and warned the Parnellites that a heavy responsibility would lie upon them for their action.
