Messrs Nolan, Tonks & Co. report : — At Opunake, on the lst inst. there was a fair muster of stock. Competition was slack, consequently several Hne6 remained unsold. At Manaia, on 3rd inst., the entry of cattle was small. Considerably more sheep than advertised came forward, but few changed hands. At Manaia—Weaners, 25s to 29s Gd * 10 to 12-month steers, 34s Gd ; yearling steers, £2 2s to £2 4s ; springers, £3 5s to £\ 2s Gel. Sheep— 2 tooth wethers (small), 7 s.
