Important Judgment.

* [Per Press Association.] P&LMKBSTON ' OUT II. May 3. Judgment in a case of considerable importance was given by District Judge Kettle tin's morning in the case on which T. Trask sought to recover damages trom the New Zealand Railway Commissioners for injuries received to a van, horses, and harness owing to the alleged negligence of the driver of an engine which collided with his horse 3 while crossing the line at a private crossing. The case was heard before a jury who returned a verdict for the plaintiff on one of the issues submitted to them. Judgment vras reserved to allow defendant to argue a nonsuit point. This was argued at the last sitting of the court and to-day Judge Kettle upheld the verdict of the jury and dismissed the motion with costs against defendant. Notice of appeal was given.
