(PEE PKESB ASSOCIATION.} Wellington, April 26 The Premier received a cable to-day stating that Her Majesty, in recognition of services rendered to the State by Sir George Grey, had been pleased to confer the rank of Privy Councillor upon him. The Premier forwarded a telegram of congratulation to Sir George Grey in the name of the people of New Zealand. This is only the second appointment conferred on residents jf the colonies, the late Hon Mr Dalley, of New South Wales, having been the other recipient of the honor — .Standard.
