The Waiapu Bishopric.

(FEB PBESS ASSOCIATION ) Napieb, April 25. Gwat interest is felt in the special meeting of the Diocesan Sjnod for the election of a Bishop. Two names were mentioned as those of probable candidates —Archdeacon Leonard Williams, of Gisborue. and Dean Hovell, of Napier. A motion " That the Synod do now proceed to the election of a Bishop," was lost, however, on the ?otes of too ctergy, and and this practically suspends the appoint ment of the Bishop until the meeting of the new Sjnod about September.
