Masonic News.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, April 25. The annual communication of the Grand Lodj^e of New Zealand was held this afternoon in the Masonic Hall, Boulcott street, about two hundred brethren being present. The balancesheet for the year, ending 31st December last, showed that .in almost every particular the accounts were in advance of the previous year, proving that the anticipations of the Board in respect of • the income of the Grand Lodge were hot visionary. The general fund showed a balance of assets of £736 3s Id as against £518 7s lid last year, in fund of benevolence a balance of £572 12s lid as against £414 18s 9d, and the statement of deposits a total of £746 17s I'd as against £476 8s 3d last year. The quarterly report of the Board of General Purposes showed that the Grand Lodge has now ninety two Lodges under its jurisdiction. The Hoard recommended that R.W. Bro. E T. Gillon should receive the rank of Past Grand Master and R.W. Bro. H. J. Williams the rank of Past Deputy Grand Master iv recognition, the former of his unwearied exertion in the establishment of the Grand Lodge, and the latter of his untiring zeal and energy whilst in charge of the district of Wellington,. The Grand Lodge forwarded grand representative commissions as follows : — Grand Lodge of Athens, for Bro. George Robertson ; Grand Lodge of Quebec, for Bro. W. O. Walker ; Grand Lodge of Ohio, for Bro. M. R. Bre&, of Gore. Bro.. HD. , Bell was elected Grand Master. The grand officers were ■ also - elected* Correspondence was read from Grand Masters of Grand Lodges, regretting their inability to be present, and from New South Walea,> Lodge, sending R.W. Bro. Edwards as their representative. The installation of the Grand Master, Bro. H. D. Bell, takes place in the Opera House to-night.
