Annual Election of School Committees.
Poha>oi.va. — The annual meeting was attended by about thirty house holders and twenty nominations were received for the school committee. On a ballot being taken four of the old committee and three new members were elected, viz ;— Messrs Sinclair, Ehlcio, Jones, Roberts, Cullina, Adsett, Goldfinch. Mr Sinclair was elected chairman. Kiwitea.— At the meeting of house holders on Monday for the election of the Kiwitea School Committee the following were elected : — Messrs Gibson, Lockyer, Jas. Barrow, Tappm, Ferry, Mitchell, and Kilgeur. The committee afterwards mot unJ elected Mr Tappin chairman and secretary, and Mr Barrow treasurer. Colyton. — The following were elected a committee :— Messrs Smith, J. Andrew, £. King, J. T. Entwislo, £. Shortall, and W. Fletcher. Mr E. Smith was elected chairman of the committee Aratiki. — The following were elected a committee for the ensuiDg year :— Messrs G. Allerby, F. Allerby S. Gray, and Colby, Mr Colby was elected chairman. Ptjkeroa. — The following committee were elected :— Messrs Ryan, J. H. Asbworth, M. Murphy, Peterson, and J. Kenrick, The committee elected Mr J. H. Ash worth chairman. At Beaconsfield, Nikau and Bunnythorpe, no committees were elected, not sufficient householders attending. At the latter place it was resolved that the VVanganui Education Board be requested to call a meeting of householders on some Saturday.
