The Weather.

(FEB PBESB ASSOCIATION). Wellington, April 13. Captain Edwin reports that since the 15th instant, an anti-cyclone system, of an unusual extent, has been passing over the country, and the barometer readings generally have beeu higher than any time since January 21st. The cyclone indicated on the 13th and 14th has either so greatly diminished in intensity that it is no longer of any consequence, or has been deflected to a much more easterly route than usual by the anti-cyclone (which has also caused a low pressure in the westward), indicated on the 12th and 17th, and which passed south of Stewart Island yesterday to more on the route which has carried it more to the south-east than usual, but as this depression is of considerable extent it may not have completely passed by. It is probable that the decrease of pressure will occur at most places southward of Napier and Hew Plymouth within the next 36 hours.
