THE Public Trust Office of New Zealand is a Governmout institution to o/ford, at lOW r«t«8 Of commission, a secure and convenient recourse for those who, desirous of forming trusts in tho colony, cannot satisfactorily appoint privato trnsaeos ov executors, ana foe persona unable or unwilling to undertake or continue the administration of the trusta aocopted by or imposed upon thorn. The Public Trust Office, constituted by "The Public Trust Office Act, 1872," has been since much enlarged in its functions by amending Acts, to meet growing requirements. The Amendment Act of 1891 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from investments at the discretion of the I'ublie Trustee, and insures tho regular payment of the interest. The Security and Fidelity of the Pub. lie Tvustoo's adimmstvation must be considered of the utmost importance to every person contemplating the appointment of a trustee. Tho colony guarantees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees aISO th« Integrity of the Capital Funds invested at the option of tho Public Trustee. Tho Colony Guarantees also, on tb« capital funds arising for investment out of the properties placed in tho Public Trust Office, a common rate of intorest, to be paid qnarterlv, Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. The value of this guarantee is in the Guarantee of the Colony against loss from investments in bad or Insufficient securities, and against loss from delay in investment, and for tho regular and punctual payment of the interest, free of alt charges of the Public Trust Office. In tho appointment of Trustees there must always bo SerlOUS concern as to the security of the capital funds ; and tho larger tho capital tands tho greater must b» tbe concern fot socurity, and the loss "or a high rate ol interest. Tho Public Trustee cannot die, cannot leave tho colony, cannot become ai«qualified, or involvod in private difficult**! ; and cannot be distrusted. In private trusteeships, death and absence render necessary numerous and expensive deeds not required by Public Trnstee's administration, which has, besides, the oAm solicitor's advice without expense to tM estates.
