The Stock Market.
Townsend and Paul (Wellington)^report—At our regular weekly sale on Sat- i nrday we submitted a nice lot of uu- < broken colts, ex Tasmania, from Syduey , mostly by the celebrated trotting sire , Confidence. We sold several at up to ' ±11, and neared owners' reserves for the others. They were a likely draft, and bad they been here at spring time instead of at the comniencenient of winter much better prices would have been realised. We sold the Napier draught horses from ±16 to ±"25 ; a bay draught gelding 3 years, just handled, iv the lot, fetching ±'10 10s ; light harness horses ' £& to £"9 ; heavier descriptions, suitable for express work, ±1$ to £11 10s. There ] is an enquiry for good weight-carrying showy hacks, sound and young, which | we could place at satisfactory figures.
