Volunteer Corps Disbanded.
(PRB PfiSM ASSOCIATION). Avcklahd, April 12. The Auckland Engineer Company has disbanded.' W. Meeding Watson spoke of the treatment Volunteers bad received from the Government. He ■ said he had been a Volunteer for twenty three years, but on application being made for his long service medal, he was informed his service was not sufficient. Major Anderson spoke of the trouble he had experienced in obtaining three medals recently received for the oldest members; He had himself applied for a medal, having been a. member of the Company since its inauguration, but he bad been informed, having been absent from one parade in twenty years (and that Was when he was ill), he was not entitled to a medal. He let that pass arid did . not apply again for himself. Motion to disband was carried with only one dissentient. ; > ?
