Palmerston Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.

The usual monthly meeting of tin above was held yesterday. PresentMessrs G. M. Snelson (chairman) Park, Nye, Bavenhill, Kendall, Tay lor, Ransome and Let h bridge. The following correspondence was dealt with : — From Hal combe Town Board am Feilding Borough Council, forwarding amounts of levy for hospital am charitable aid purposes. From Mr J. R. Stansell, hon. sec to the Foxton Amateur Operatic Com pany, forwarding £8 3s 9d being th< net proceeds of an entertainment givei by the company in aid of the hospitn funds. From Mr Oarr, Feilding, forwarding £7 12s, being proceeds of a guessing competition got up in aid of th< funds. From Treasury, forwarding subsidy amounting to £62 17s sd. From Sister Aubert, reminding th( Board of their promise to pay 10s pc week towards the support of Nelli Hildred. From Mr J. P. Innes, requesting the Board to agree to the transfer lo 9, Hospital Reserves, from Mr Rilej to Mr Scarlett. It was resolved to agree to tin transfer asked for by Mr Inues, anc the Chairman and Mr Park were ap pointed to sign the deed of transfer. It was resolved to pay bister Au bert the sum of 10s per week for th< support of Nellie Hildred. The Chairman said Mr Carr hac got up the guessing competition it order to purchase chairs for the us< of the hospital, and it was decided tt purchase as many as were required. On the motion of Mr Park vo.tes of thanks were passed to Mr Carr, ti the Foxton Ania»eur Pinafore Com pany, and to all others who had con tributed to the funds, or to the larder, during the past month. It was resolved to take legal advice as to the liability of an employer to pay tor medical services in cases were an accident occurs when such servant is on duty. Mr Taylor proposed, That in future no medical accounts for attendance on our sick patients be recognized except authority has been given in writing by some members of the Board or the Secretary — Seconded by Mr Nye and carried* The Board then adjourned.
