The Public Truot Office, constituted by "Tho I'ublic Trust Oipcc Act, 1672," has been since much enlarged in its functions by amending Acts, to im;ct growing requirements. Tho Amendment Act of 1891 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against less to estates from Investments at the discretion of the l'uWic Trustee, ana insures the regular payment of the interest. The Security and Fidelity of the Public Trusteo's administration must be considered of tho utmost importance to every person contemplating tbe appointment of a trustee. Tho colony guarantees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees aISO the Integrity of the Capital Funds invested at tbe option of tho Public Trustee. Tho Colony Guarantees also, on the capital funds arising for investment out of th« properties placed in the Public Trust Office, a common rate of interest, to be paid quarterly, Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. Tho value of this guarantee is In the Guarantee of tho Colony against loes from investments iv bad or Insufficient securities, and against loss from dolay in hnrestmont, and for the regular and punctual payment of the interest, free of all charges of th» Public Trust Office. In tho appointment or Trustees there mußt always bo SOriOUS concern as to th« •♦curlty of the capital funds; and th« larger tho capital funds the Rreater must b« the concern for security, and the les9 for a high rate of interest. The Public Trustee cannot Me, cannot leave tho colony, cannot become diaqualiflcd, or involved in private difficulties; aud cannot be distrusted.
