Meeting of Ratepayers at Apiti.
[By Telegraph.] (Special Correspondent.) Birmingham, This Day. A meeting of ratepayers in No 5 Ward of the Pohaugina JRoad Board District was held iv the Apiti schoolhouse last evening to nominate (so as to avoid a poll) a successor to the late G. K. Lucas to represent the Ward. The names of Messrs Goodbehere affd Vicary were mentioned, and as several speakevs expressed their determination to support a local nmu, and others were strongly in favour of electing the former gentleruau, it is probable a poll will result.
