Myers! was to-day charged with forgery. Russell, one of the British delegates to the Behring Sea Confereuce, declares that the Behring Sea Fisheries Bill contains no clause permitting ships sailing prior to publication of the regulations to engage in sealing with impunity, as in alleged by American fishermen. News has beeu received that the 20 acre crops and the brickmaking aud other trades in New Australia are flourishing. Seven thousand quarters of Australian wheat, prompt shipment, sold at 25s 4-^d per quarter. St. John's, April 10. The Newfoundland Government have resigned Rio de Janeiro. April 10 Two hundred of the Brazilian refugees escaped to Argentina when the Portugese warships were about to sail. It is reported that Admiral De Gaina nnd several of his officers have escaped from the Portuguese warship. Hii'.vr Yohk. April 10. By a fire in the stables at Baltimore 137 racehorses were burnt to death. The total loss by the fire is estimated at 4100,000. A fireworks factory at Petersburg, in Virginia, exploded, and the debris afterwards caught fire. The explosion and conflagration resulted in the loss of 12 lives. Bupa Pesth. April 9. The Hungarian Assembly has yielded to the demands of the press, and the reporters have again been admitted to the lobbies of" the House, Paris, April 9. It is expected that there will be almost a total failure of the grain crops in Franco, owing to the prevalence of drought. Caibo. April 9. The English residents in Egypt complain of the defiant attitude of the natives and are afraid of an outbreak of fanaticism. In consequence of the unsettled state of affairs, th«y are urging Great Britaiu to control the administration of the Minister of the Interior.
