Twenty thousand strikers at cokeworks in Pennsylvania armed themselves with guns and cluhs, and drove nonunionists from the vicinity of the works. The Pennsylvania strikers are parading the streets in a threatening manner, and the whole district is in a state of terrorism. Two non-unionists have been killed by the strikers. The sheriff's troops killed seventeen of the rioters at the coke works in Pennsylvania. St. John's, April 5. Sir William Whiteway, Premier of Newfoundland, has asked Sir J. O'Brien, Governor of the Island, to dissolve Parliament. The Premier haa taken thia step in consequence of 17 petitions having been lodged, accusing the members of the Parliament of bribery and corruption. Several Ministers are included in the charge. The Governor is consulting the Marquis of Ripon on the point. Berlin, April 5. The Czar has decorated Count Von Caprivi with the Order of St. Andrew. Pabis. April 4. News has been received that a French force was surprised and defeated by natives of Usapa in the Soudan, many on both sides being killed. During a squall near Ajaccio, in Corsica, the French warship Neptune, with Admiral Baudin on board, narrowly escaped meeting the same fate as H.M.S. Victoria. She collided with another vessel under similar circumstances to those of the Victoria- Camperdown affair, but the impact was very slight, and no damage of any consequence resulted. Lisbon, April 5.
