Farewell to the Rev Mr Watkin.

A social farewell tea was given in San* don last night by the membera of the Wesleyan Church there, to the Rev W. Watkin, who ia leaving the Circuit and retiring from the Ministry, having been superannuated to the Onehunga Circuit (Auckland). After the tea a public meeting was held, presided over by the Rev G. Harper, and during the evening speeches wero delivered by Messrs Bishop, 80. water, Carthew and Masters, one and all speaking in terms of the highest praise of the valuable services rendered by the retiring minister, and wishing him long life and happiness in his new home. Mr Watkin suitably replied to the kind expressions #iven by the speakers, and in doing so gave a resume of his life as a minister, his early training, etc., and related many anecdotes which had taken place during hia 38 years' service in the church. Mr Watkin will be greatly missed by tho members of the church and his many friends in this and other districts, and he will take with him to his new home the good wishes of all who have come in contract with him, for a long life of happiness,
