As a result of the riots in connection with the enforcement of the liquor laws, martial law has been proclaimed in Darlington County, South Carolina, und the Governor of the State has placed an embargo on the telegraph and railway companies. The law in South Carolina places the sale of alcoholic liquors in the hands of the State. The Governor of Darlington has obtained reinforcements of militia, and has proclaimed the country in a state of rebellion.
