The Licensing Poll in Wellington.

(fbb maa association,) Welunotom, March 27. The poll in Otaki was ineffective. It is understood the Wellington Committee only intend to reduce houses by three or four. A scrutiny of the suburban poll shows that with informal votes added the poll is effective in favor of a reduction. The scrutiny of the City poll is expected to last three days, It has been already found, however, that Smith, one of the temperance candi* dates elected, who was eighth on the list, should be credited with forty eight more votes, and this reduces the chance of his being displaced. The Suburban Returning Officer declines to count informal votes and intends to declare the poll inoperative.
