The Licensing Elections.

The polling for the return of candidates as members of the Licensing Committee, &c, tor the Licensing District of Rangitikei was proceeding at at the Courthouse to-day, Mr Charles Bray (junior) acting as Deputy-Re-turning Officer, and Mr T. W. K. ' Foster as Poll Clerk. Apparently very little interest was taken in the matter during the early part of the day, but no doubt electors will roll up in stronger numbers towards the closing of the poll.

(PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.! Wei<MNOTON, This Day. Beautiful weather to-day. The voting, up to noon, was slack at most of the booths, except at Newtown. Very few vehicles are about. A rush is expected in the afternoon. One of the papers issued by the publicans shows tho electors how to vote. It is wrongly drawn up, and as a number of supporters are following its instructions there will be a large proportion of informal papers.
