Floods in Nelson.
[PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] > elso.v, March 19. The damage done by Saturday's storm and heavy rain is widespread. The floods were experienced throughout the country districts as well as in town. In many cases fields and hop gardens are either washed in holes or covered with silt. Many narrow escapes are reported, but no lives are lost. The public bodies will be taxed to the utmost to repair the damage to roads and bridges, and individual losses are considerable A com para tively new bridge on the Butter road at Ganity Creek has been completely carried away. *
