Sudden Death of Mr G. R. Lucas.

We regret to have to report the sad. den death of Mr G. R. Lucas, which took place this morning at Mr Colby's farm while engaged dipping sheep. While passing the sheep through the dip he was observed to suddenly fall backwards. Help was iminpdiately obtained, and Dr Johnston sent for. On the Doctor's arrival life was found tp be extinct. Mr Lucas was a well : knpwn settler, was much respected, and had rendered much valuable assistance to his fellow settlers in th,e Pohangina and other partu of the district JJas merubor of various Road Boards. At the time of his death Mr Lucas was a member of the Pohangina Road Board. He leaves behind him a wife and large family to mourn thuir loss. Au inquest will bo field.
