Y HE Public Trust Office off Hew Zealand is a CiovermiiLiit iiin-'tutiou to auoi'il, at low rates ef commission, a securo and convenient, recourso for those who, desirous of forming trusts in the colony, ounnot satisfactorily appoint private trusters or executors, and lor persons unablo or unwilling to undertake or continue the administration of the trusts accepted by or imposed upon them. The Public Trust Office, constituted by "The Public Trust Oilico Act, 1«72," haa been since much cnlorgod iv its functions by amending Acts, to meet growing requirements. The Amendment Act of 1891 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from Investments at the discretion of the I'ublic Trustee, and insures tho regular payment of tho interest. Tho Security and Fidelity ot the Pub. lie Trusteo's administration must be considered of the utmost importance to every person contemplating tho appointment of a trustee. Tho colony guarantees tlie fidelity of the administi-atiou, and Guarantees also the Integrity of the Capital Funds invested at the option of the I'ublio Trust©*. The Colony Guarantees also, on the capital funds arising for investment out of th« properties placed iv the Public Trust Office, a common rate of interest, to be paid quarterly, Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. The value of this guarantee is in the Guarantee of the Colony against loes from investments in bad or Insufficient securities, and against loss from dolay in investment, and for the regular and punctual payment of the interest, free of all charge* of the Public Trust Office. In the appointment of Trustees there must always be seriOUS concern as to tne security of the capital funds i and tb« larger tho capital funds the greater mast b« the concern for Becurity, and tho less for a high rate of interest. Tho Public Trustee cannot die, cannot leave tho colony, cannot become disqualified, or involved iv private difficulties j aud cannot be distrusted.
