Government institution to afford, at lOW r&tOS Of commission, a secure and convenient recourse for those who, desirous of forming triists in tho colony, cannot satisfactorily appoint private trustees or executors, aud for persons unable or unwilling to undertake or continue the administration of tbo trusts accepted by or imposed upon them. The Public Trust Office, constituted by "Tho Public Trust Offico Act, 1872," bas been since much enlarged iv its functions by ai-uonding Acts, to meet growing requirements. Tbo Amendment Act of 1691 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from investments at tne discretion of tho TuUlic Trustee, and insures tbe regular payment of tbe Interest. Tho Security and Fidelity of tbe Fab. lie Trustee's administration must be considered of tho utmost importance to every person contemplating the appointment of a trustee Tho colony guarantees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees aISO the Integrity of the Capital Funds I invosted at tbe option of the Public Trustee. The Colony Guarantees also, on tb« cam' tal funds arising for investment out of tb« properties placed iv the Public Trust Office, ft common rato of interest, to bo paid quarterly, Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. The valuo of this guarantee is in- (he Guarantee of the Cotony against loss from inrostmonts in bad or Insufficient securities, and against loss from delay in investment, and for tbo regular and punctual payment of tbe interest, free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. Iv the appointment of Trustees there must always be SeriOUS. conoern as to the security of the Capital funds; and tbe larger the capital funds tbo greater must be tbe concern to* security, and tho los 9 for a hisb rate of Intorest. Tbo Public Trttftee cannot die, cannot leave tbe colony, cannot become uu« qualified, or involved in private diflicultm; and cannot be distrusted. In private trusteeships, death and abseno* render nocessary numerous and oxponsiT* deeds uot required by Public Trustee's Administration, which bas, besides, tbe offls* solicitor's advice without expense to Urn estatos.
