TO THE EDITOR OF THK STAR Sir, —Having occasion to visit the Dval this morning at about 6 o'clock, I was surprised and disgusted beyond measure to see three horses roaming *at leisure over the track in the enclosureOne spot iv particular was cut up most shamefully, evidently by the rolling of a horse, and the top dressing that has been placed on the track was in many places cut up, and will thereby necessitate immediate attention to make things any waj p even and fit for sporting.
