The Bailance Memorial Statue.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION/. Wellington, Mnrch 9. The BaUance Memorial Committee, on the report of Messrs Clere and Turnbull, have accepted the design of Mr It. K. McGregor, architect, Wellington, for the Memorial Statue. The committee resolved that if Mr McCjtregor could not carry out and complete it according to the prescribed conditions, the design of Mr J. B. Jacobsen, of Palmerston North, should be accepted, and failing that, Mr Stocks, of Christchurch. If none of these can be erected for the amount in hand fresh designs will be called for.
