At tbe Umvorsity Senate meeting it «as resolved on tbe motion of Sir ltobert Stout, that the Senate again re affirm the desirability of establishing a University College in Wellington, and that a copy of the resolution be sent to the Minister ot Education. On Sir Maurice O'fiorke's motion a return was ordered of money spent in ceremonials for presentation of diplomas daring the last five years. There was another debate oo the capping ceremonies and it was finally resolved that the diplomas of the University be forwarded to those entitled to them. The capping ceremonial is thus abolished.
