An Important River Boundary Case.

* . (PEB FBEHB ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, March 5. A case of considerable importance has been decided at Whangarei by the Warden. Christey applied for a water right above the Whangarei Falls, f o r the purpose of erecting electrical machinery for lighting Whangarei, and other purposes. A'loway, the qwner of the land on the banks of the river, objected, maintaining that his i boundary was the middle of the river, and produced his Crown grant, showing the river as a boundary. Christey maintained that the river was Crown property, and said the Crown Lands Department had instructed him to this effect. The Warden upheld the objection of Alloway, and decided that the river was not Crown Land, and declined to grant Christey 's application.
