(PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.} Christchurch, March 3 In the Afternoon the Auckland match, ten shots at 300 yds was fired. Tbe following were tbe chief prize takers : — McGregor (Oamaru) 46, £8; Ross (Napier) 45, £6 : Scott (Christchurcb) 44, * t*s; McNab, (InvercargiU) 44, £4; Wilmott (Queenstown) 44, £4; Spinley (Auckland) 43, £'6; Sim (Temuka) 48, Nimmo (Oamaru),Dodds (Port Chalmers), Hats well (Auckland), Salmon (Blenheim), £2

This afternoon the companies team match was fired. At 200 and DOOvds tbe conditions were favourable, but at tbe 600 yds a fierce southerly squall set in and most leading teams fell to pieces, allowing those who were at one time apparently ont of it to come to tbe front. The following is the result :— Wanganui Rifieß, 392, 4.80 ; Oamaru Rifle Club, 389, £20 ; Southland Rifle Club, 380, £15; Christchurch Reserve Company, No- 2 team, 379, £10; Dunedin Rifle Club, 378, £10; Christcbnrch Reserve Company, No. 1 team, 376, £5. An unsuccessful attempt has been made to enter tbe magazine where money iB taken. So far the money won by various dis tricts has been — Otago, £101; Anckland, £87 ; Canterbury, £81; Wanganui, £50; Southland, £44; Hawke's Bay, £42; Wellington, £35; Nelson, £4; Blenheim, £2; total, £450. The leading individual winners are — P.O. Spinley, Auckland, Ll4; Lieutenant Ross, Napier, Ll3; Greenshields, Auck land, Ll3; McGregor, Oamaru, Ll2; Head, Auckland, LIO. Wednesday is now mentioned as the day on wbich the Belt is decided, and that the meetiug will break up on Thuredaj'. Thia Day. The shooting began at 8 o'clock sharp this morning. In the Wellington match on the men reaching the firing point an examination was made of their shooting bags for Kynoch ammunition, but none was discovered, but a number of empty Kynoch cartridge cases bave been found on the range, which shows clearly this better class of ammunition had been in use.
